Wellbeing

Your wellbeing is vitally important to us and to your success on the course. It is the first focus of each mentor meeting and is an ongoing conversation throughout the year.

Your training year is busy and involves skills and scenarios that may be new to you.  Whilst many thrive with the support on offer, we are always monitoring your progress to ensure we have got it right for you.  We want you to be successful and always offer the best to our students.

We understand

We understand what it is like to undergo teacher training; each of the expert teachers you meet on our programme have been through it and we have supported many trainees in qualifying.

In all our collective experience, we also know where potential worries often arise in the training year.

With this in mind, we have planned our programme around developing strategies to support these areas early on.  Once established, we regularly return to them throughout the course, constantly learning, reflecting and adapting to meet your emerging talents and foster an array of skills useful to teaching in any environment.

Your support

We offer a dedicated mentor and protected time to meet with them regularly.  Your wellbeing will always be the first item on the agenda, checking in to make sure that you are managing successfully.

A Training Lead who oversees all trainees on the programme.  They are adept at spotting potential problems and work with other specialists in the school to provide any additional training or support where and when it is needed.

Professional Studies sessions regularly focus on mindfulness, resilience and the ability to identify the early warning signs of potential problems.

Colleagues that are eager to listen, provide reassurance and offer specific strategies to help you.  We are a very welcoming Trust and doors are always open for you to drop in and observe or speak to a more senior member of staff.
